  • e. The CGEA will be having a car wash this Friday (April 17th 2009) to benefit a Training Center CPO who lost everything he owned in an apartment fire. Please help support this TRACEN CPO and get your car washed by the CGEA. It's a great cause.
  • f. It was my honor to represent the Yorktown CWOA at a recent funeral. One of our brethren had crossed the bar and it seemed only appropriate that one of his own CWO Brothers be there to present the flag to his family. The CWO who passed away did retire back in the late 1970's and his last tour of duty was at the Reserve Training Center here at Yorktown.
  • g. CWO Carriere is working with PTC and LCDR Lee Fleming to come up with an enlarged image of our logo so that we can use it on www.cafepress.com to open up a TCY CWOQ storefront, and begin selling shirts, hooded sweatshirts, mugs and novelty items.
  • h. Next CWOA meeting is a date yet to be determined.

9.         I want to thank each and every one of your for attending this months CWOA meeting.  It was great to see a full table during lunch.  Perhaps we can reserve more chairs for our next meeting.  There is so much that this chapter can do if we just put our minds and ideas together.  I will be working with Mr. Jeffery Wapner (an MWR employee) and I will be trying to put together a CWOA Golf Tournament in the near future.  This is a great way to raise money for our chapter.  Fundraising and community projects should be at the forefront of this organization.  Your ideas and comments are appreciated, so please send them to me.

10.  The meeting was adjourned at 1230.
