1. On Thursday, 29 October 09, Yorktown Chapter CW & WOA President Mike Steverson called the meeting to order at 1130 held at the Coast Guard Training Center Dining Facility.

    a. CWO OER Training clinic will be hosted by the CWOA this November (date TBD). Volunteers needed. See CWO4 Joe Myers to volunteer.

 

 

    b. Membership discussed the current state of the Yorktown CWOA Chapter with regards to numbers and active participation continues to be an issue. CWOA is looking for options on how to increase our visibility.

    c. BOD discussed the possibility of initiating monthly dues for the Yorktown CWOA Chapter to increase active participation among members.

    d. BOD discussed idea of Turkey Raffle and Golf Tournament as possible fund raising events in the upcoming month. See CWO2 Litka to volunteer.

    e. BOD discussed ideas for possible Food and/or Clothing Drive for Community Relations during the holiday months.

    f. BOD discussed the possibility of collaborative efforts with the CPOA and CGEA for events during the upcoming months. To be addressed by Chapter President.

 

 

    a. 06 October 2009 – The Yorktown CWOA swore in the newly selected Yorktown CWOA Chapter’s Officers.  

 

 

b. 07 October 2009 – The Yorktown CWOA Officers were present for the swearing in of the Yorktown CPOA Chapter’s new officers. We wish our counterparts the best of luck in their new positions:

   

 

 

    c. 22 October 2009 – TraCen Yorktown Chief’s Mess held their Chief’s Call To Initiation for this falls PCPO’s. 

    d. Next CWOA meeting TBD.

 

 

07 October 2009 – CWO4 Joe Myers, Outgoing Yorktown CWOA President, swears in the new Yorktown CWOA Chapter Officers. 

 

 

06 October 2009 – CDR Ty Rinoski, TraCen Yorktown XO, swears in the new Yorktown CPOA Chapter Officers. 

 

 

9. I want to thank those members that were able to attend this months CWOA meeting and the swearing in of our new officers. There is so much that this chapter is able to do, but we need everyone to step up and be an active participant. Fundraising and community projects should be at the forefront of this organization. Your ideas and comments are appreciated, so please send them to me.
